GPS tracking chip

Anyone know if there is a GPS tracking chip that can help trace laptops and computers?? kinda like we have with cars

Not enough space inside a laptop imo. *Maybe* if you custom design the receiver for that specific laptop model.

In a Desktop computer it would be too easy to remove/discover.

yes you can, just have to design the circuit yourself. RF design is a great place to buy modules but you'll also need a GSM/GPRS one to send the data about its current location. RF design sells GPRS+GPS modules as far as i can remember.
