Do any of you have one of these for your kids?

I am looking for a watch that can allow for basic communication between parent and child .... any such thing on the market?

Thanks.

How old is the kid?

Would a drone not be easier to keep an eye on him/her? Assuming a helicopter is out of the question.

Namola, R1300+/- for the unit plus a couple R100 for the watch holder and R79/month subscription.

Added benefit of able to call the device directly from one number as well as a sos that will be directed to police.

Most of the Kid's GPS watches seem to need to be paired to a phone, unfortunately. I did find one in Thailand that had 4G and allowed apps to be installed like Whatsapp and WeChat, but it was about R2000 which I thought was a bit of overkill.

We bought our daughter (now 8) one of those Polaroid watches from Makro Christmas before last at R499. You put a sim in it and the tracking via app and the calls/messaging worked OK. She didn't wear it for long though, partly because it came with a charging dock that had a stupidly short cable so it was a pain to keep charged.

I know 2 people with tracking watches for their kids. Works pretty good, I would also get that if I have a child one day.
