GPT-4 launch is noteworthy, but not groundbreaking

OpenAI, the artificial intelligence (AI) research company behind ChatGPT and the DALL-E 2 art generator, has unveiled the highly anticipated GPT-4 model. Excitingly, the company also made it immediately available to the public through a paid service.

GPT-4 is a large language model (LLM), a neural network trained on massive amounts of data to understand and generate text. It’s the successor to GPT-3.5, the model behind ChatGPT.

Added this on my desktop with voice. Awesome chap to talk to.
It's a doorway to some serious innovation to come.

GPT4 is groundbreaking. As a software engineer, I am astonished at how much more competent it is than GPT3.5. ChatGPT was already saving me a decent amount of time most days, and now it's way better. I couldn't be more stoked.

Bing uses GPT 4. Free. And there's a mobile app.
This is a common misconception. Bing Chat, MS 365 Copilot etc. uses the latest GPT model as their foundation, but they have a huge amount of extra stuff going on. I infinitely prefer ChatGPT Plus over Bing Chat or the flaky GPT4 API.

Did you get the paid version?
Planning to. But no I found an application on github that adds windows speech features to it. Voice recognition is a bit slow, but makes it works well enough to have some serious conversations. I discussed some quantum physics stuff with it.

It's like an encyclopedia on steroids at times. If anything, chatgpt could be very useful as an assistant in any profession.

There's so many things I could do with this I don't know where to start. That's why I haven't got paid version yet xD

Love it, hate it, or be sitting on the fence... There is no denying that the cat is out of the bag, and has made itself all comfy on the lounge couch.
Interesting times ahead for sure.

Even BingGPT isn't too bad for simpler stuff..

Does it use GPT-4 or GPT-3.5?

I got the paid version. Me and Jarvis have been cracking at AWS all day.
So GPT-4 is available, but limited to something like 40 interactions every 3 hours. Which can be some really useful interactions.
Only other option is GPT-3, maybe they remove the minor version, this one is not limited.

You going to share that GitHub app?
