GPU Bios Flashing..

When is it nessecary and can it help your GPU in any way?Cause I read on websites that if done wrong,it's bye bye GPU.....

Its almost never necassary and will void your warranty unless you are specifically instructed to do so by the manufacturer. Only reason I can think of right now is if you have a normal consumer GPU, but want to use it as a workstation GPU you can flash the bios to unlock a few features. These features are only relevent to CAD programs though, so really no need to do this if you are only gaming. It may also allow higher overclocks now that I think about it, but the manufacturer made the bios the way it is for a reason - so that you cant blow up the GPU too easily.

It isn't necessary but it can help with overclocking - in some cases flashing with a different manufacturer's bios can automatically boost the speed level, whereas your particular card may have artificial limits imposed by the vendor.

So you can make clock speeds higher permantly withou using an apllication?And what do you mean by artificial limits?

I drive on the pavement and I must say I have less problems with the pedestrians because they are waliking in the street all the time. Hehehehehe.

I flashed my 8800GTX from it's standard BIOS/Firmware to an 8800Ultra BIOS/Firmware. It's been four years now and it's going strong.

if and if it works on 8500gt you think I can flash 250gts to 275gtx or is that too high?

You CANNOT flash to a different card model - absolutely not. That will destroy your card. You could flash your 250gts to a 9800gtx+ bios though if you wanted to sli them together.
