After ny pc standing for a while to replace the cpu cooler I notice the gpu fans not turning. Guess wasnt the cpu cooler .

I can get them to turn by blowing but stops after a short while to turn.

Will blow dust off and try again.

The specialized re-brand cards i.e not OEM do have "interactive cooling" EVGA calls theirs iCX - although if they start up when you blow them that does sound like a current (amps) issue inside the fans hence the extra push needed and eventually stopping as energy dissipates.

What GPU do you have?

Now my boot corrupted probably from switching on and off. And recovery usb not booting.

Time to rebuild.

BSOD due to my hot swap drive being in PC.

GPU cooler. One was turning and other now as well once I blew on it. GPU fans running now the whole time.

Will check again if its working tomorrow after restart.

GPU fine. But pc still cuts out during games into a black screen. Windows no issue.

Will try a new CPU cooler as stock cooler has broken pins. Not sure previously broken or now by me.

Will update once cooler in.

Update

Bought a coolermaster cpu fan and problem solved. Or at least so far able to play a game without dead screen.

Not sure what failed in old stock cooler

And sadly yes now I can run old steam RTS without crashing but anything more graphics intensive crashes.

So its gpu as its hot but fans not running unless I blow on them.

All fine once fans turning. Will see via msi app.

Any tips ito gpu test apps?

What do you want to test exactly?

I usually use Kombustor or Furmark to put load on the GPU if that's what you intend on doing. Can you force the fans to spin at a minimum of say 30% in MSI Afterburner to keep them on the boil, so to speak?

Test if gpu fine or not. Like apps will tell you hdd is failing. Also to load gpu to see if it can handle load.

Thanks will try kombustor.

Might need lube. Sometimes after running hot for a while, it dries up and the friction created, makes it difficult for it to start turning.

Thanks

1. Kombustor stress test all fine. Got hot but ran with no crash.
2. Lube - it does run but sometimes fans dont turn. But desperate enough to see if it needs some help

Besides new cpu cooler I installed gpu management utility. Also kombustor stress test may have helped set parameters.

Wonder if my temp settings may have been too low originally.

I notice it does sometimes cut out and reason it does is when gpu fans not turning.

Seems erratic. New GPU next year I guess.
