Earlier today, I installed AMD 13.6 beta drivers on my desktop for my 7970. Suddenly, my text was being strange.

Some of it was bold: http://puu.sh/3r4Qr.png http://puu.sh/3r4QV.png http://puu.sh/3r4Sn.png
And some was in italics: http://puu.sh/3r4SS.png http://puu.sh/3r4Tm.png

This has never happened before.

I then decided to try and uninstall 13.6 and reinstall the last stable release (13.4). Upon uninstalling 13.6, I restarted and found that 13.4 was being recognized in things such as MSI Afterburner, and my visuals looked the same as they did before, as though the uninstall wasn't successful. After more deleting of files, I got a BSOD. After a system repair, I am now on my desktop, with what looks to be 13.4 installed, but I still have that strange text problem (perhaps my registry data for fonts is corrupted/missing).

Catalyst Control Center won't open, not even as administrator. I think I've completely messed up my graphics drivers, and what I'd usually do now is do a fresh install, but judging from above, that doesn't work anymore either.

What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Before now, I have always avoided beta, but I had a strange menu "ghosting" problem and figured the previous official driver could have caused it. The next official hadn't been released yet, so I figured I'd try. The beta also works fine on my laptop. I won't be going there again.

More strange things happened with my PCs visuals, to the point where I ended up formatting and reinstalling Windows. It required quite a lot of effort, but I knew what I was doing, unlike when trying to fix the aforementioned problems. I now also have a "fresh start" with my programs and registry.

Thanks for the help Chevron.
