rofl.. hahaha... good one. it is clear of dust..

My PC does the exact same thing. When I end any game, the fan on my GFX card continues to spin at a very high speed. I even left the PC alone for about 2 hours with only essential apps running and the fan was still spinning at the same speed. It has become very irritating that I have to reboot for it to stop.

Kronik - thats exactly the same issue i am having!!! That bloody high speen whine drives me nuts :(

I havent updated firmware (would prefer not to) GPU was working perfectly up until last week and then this problem came up

what are the temps? if they are high it's dust dude - that 8800 has been running for a good 3 years man...

my 8800gt used to run at 100% and eventually crash(bluescreen) after abt 10 mins of crysis...so i changed the stock cooler to an ultracool coolermaster and no problems ever since....runs silent a can play games all day long!!

last i check gpu was running @ 76 degrees after playing COD MW for hours..

ok, took a closer look.. does seem to be dust inside fan area, gonna clear that out and test later.
thansk for input

Off topic, but does updating the firmware increase performance by any chance? Or is performance only driver related.
