GPU: no singal on Samsung LCD TV

Hi,

I recently bought an AMD 6850 but I'm having trouble using it with a Samsung LA32D550.

The TV says "no signal" when it's connected to the GPU. I've used both an HDMI and an HDMI to DVI cable. I tested the card on a 32" Mecer LCD and it works perfectly.

I also plugged both screens in simultaneously and just the Mecer boots into Windows, the Samsung isn't even detected as an external display in Windows.

I've tested the HDMI port on the Samsung with a DSTV decoder and it works 100%.

If the GPU is at fault, would I be able to RMA it considering that it works on the Mecer?

Similar thing happened when I took my PS3 to a friend with bigger LCD, it didn't pick up the TV via HDMI. After keeping the power button pressed for 5secs reset to HDMI display and it worked.

So the issue could be resolution that's different and the TV can't find the compatible res on auto, try manually or a type of reset.
 
I think the Samsung LCD TV should have an option that it should take the source from a PC and not from a TV device.
Like I was unable to get a perfect 1920x1080 picture on my office's Samsung LCD TV when I connected it to my GTX460 with an HDMI cable.
 
Thanks for the replies. I'm using the HDMI 1 port. I did try renaming the source to both PC and DVI PC earlier but it didn't fix the problem.

Browsing through those Cnet forums, there does seem to be a lot of issues with regard to connecting Samsung TVs to computers via HDMI but no real solutions. I'll try test a working computer/laptop with an HDMI port on the TV and see if it connects properly. The screen is only about three months old, so if it's a technical fault then I could get a swapout.
