Hi, i was installing a samsung 850 evo ssd on my pc and when i tried to boot up to reinstall the OS my R9 280X stopped working and onboard gpu stopped working. I have reset the cmos and tried the 4x pcie lane with no success. The fans on the r9 280x move for a split second then stop (almost like a shake) when i start the pc. I am using a gigabyte b75m-d3h (crappy i know)Could my mobo be dead or is the gpu dead?

It could very likely be a power supply issue.
If you have a CPU with onboard graphics, try the computer with the card unplugged. Or unplug everything except the bare minimum and see if it boots!

Sorry for the delay. It was definitely the mobo, managed to test my psu and graphics card on a friends pc and it ran fine. Decided to upgrade to skylake :) . Still strange as how the mobo died when i most definitely grounded myself.

It was a b75m, bought that board for like R800 3 years ago:erm: , got my moneys woth though :D . Bought an i5 6600K , Asus Z170 Deluxe, 16gb corsair vengeance ram. Just contemplating on whether to wait for pascal or hope that the fury price drops:whistle:
