Ok,

Just got an R9 280X. Have the XFX 650 watt pro psu. On the psu it has 2x6 pins and 2x8 pins. The one six pin is missing a black cable, however it's labled PCI-E and the other is not. Black is ground. So does it matter not having the one ground pin not connected?

Thanks

Fixed FDD : up to 1
Fixed Peripheral : up to 7
Fixed 6-pin PCI-E : 2
Fixed 6+2-pin PCI-E : 2
Fixed ATX12V / EPS12V : One 4+4-pin
Fixed Motherboard Connector : 20+4 Pin
Fixed SATA : up to 8

where are the 6+2 used?

personally, I would not use it, as by looking at my 280x, the 6-pins have all 6 their cables.

2x R9 280X on a 650w PSU? You kidding right?
You'll need a decent 850W PSU if you want to run 2x R9 280X OC cards, because a single one uses about 350W when running Furmark!

True that. Guess I wasn't aware it used that much power.

Still need an answer with regards to missing one black pin cable on the 6 pin connector. New PSU and GPU so i'm concerned. Any PSU gurus that can help?

Sorry guys, i'm quite the idiot. Put the PSU in where there was light at an angle, the black cable does exist lol; it was just pushed to the side so it looked like it was non-existent and there was only two of them.
