A few days back I started a thread about GrabIt not functioning correctly in Vista...

Anywyas, I thought I sorted out the problem, but only tried downloading something again yesterday...
So:

1. When I download something GrabIt creates the correct folders in my download folder eg alt.binaries.boneless , but after I've downloaded something there's still nothing in the folder(s) GrabIt created.
2. My cachefolder equals the size of my download, and my cap falls by the amount I've downloaded.
3. I know some of you guys would advise me to post this on the news servers' forums, but there seems to be something wrong with that registration, so I can't :(

Thanks guys :)

Install Linux, works perfectly with Ubuntu 7.04 feisty, native 64bit.

I had this problem on XP. It was because i hadn't downloaded the list of newsgroups from the server. I believe this bug has been fixed in the latest version. I found altbinz to be a much better usenet app than grabit. You should check it out. http://www.altbinz.com/index.php?page=screenshotz

Had the same problem once or twice - I believe an upgrade to grabit sorted me out, but I had to take the items from the grabit cache folder and recreate them using some or other tool - I can't remember how it was so long ago. Someone else who uses it more regularly can prolly help.

Thanks guys...
Geez, I'm having a lot of problems since installing Vista :(

Ja, not surprising, they should put a label on the pack about the first year being user acceptance testing... then reduce the off the shelf price for the testers.

I used to use GrabIt, but then I changed to AltBinz http://www.altbinz.com/

IMO it is much better. I do, however, only download from the newsgroups with NZB files.
