I really love the GTA series (1 is still my favourite - that intro music was epic :D ) but due to my play-style, these games don't last too long with me. Eventually all I do is start it up, find a fairly busy part of town and blow the #$&^ out of it. I see how far I can go with a max cop rating, after which I close it down.

It's the same with Mafia and SR although I really enjoyed Mafia's story.

EDIT: As with the Elderscroll series, I love straight singleplayer based games, but can't help feel that multiplayer might be the saving grace here....

God I can't wait for this game. GTA is why I care about gaming. San Andreas set the epic bar, and GTA V looks like it will change that.

GTA 3 was good enough to motivate buying a PS2. Vice City was EPIC. Then along came San Andreas. OMG... For about a month I WAS Carl Johnson. Even with load times long enough to make baby Jesus cry - I couldn't get enough.

GTA IV was meh imho. Didn't feel much of a connection with Nico. The lost and damned expansion was better - though I liked the gang leader's personality a lot more than Johnny's.

Looking forward to the next installment.

This game is going to be incredible. God I can't wait. I highly recommend Sleeping Dogs to anyone who likes sandbox games. Way better than Saints Row: The Third.
