Hi Guys

a friend wants to buy a new GPU and i was wondering if someone can help with some advice.

His current PC is

I3-3220 3.30GHZ
2 cores/4 threads
MINI TOWER
ASROCK-H61-VS LGA1155 DDR3
500GB
DDR3 2GIG 13333MHZ RAM/MEMORY + upgrading his ram later on
LG DVD-RW 24x
450W PSU
ONE SLOT AVAILABLE TO UPGRADE RAM

and he wants to get a

MSI N650-1GD5/OC, 1GB 16x PCI-E (DVI,VGA, HDMI)

His budget is around 1300

Whats the best card for that price.

Thank for the help

Well for R1600 you can get a 7790 from Woodward which is a much better option.

great thanks for far

I am going to show it to him

@NAG Wesley, are the above choices fine with the PSU ?

I think he has a friend who can get it for him at pinnacle, so those should be cheaper ?

Thanks though

I would recommend this instead of the GTX650:

PowerColor Radeon HD7770 1GB GDDR5 @ R1349

Its a faster card and will play any game with high settings and playable framerates at 1080p. If your friend has a little more money to spend:

PowerColor Radeon HD7790 1GB GDDR5 @ R1599

That's the same GPU that's going into the PS4 and Xbox One and its about as fast as a HD7850.

good point ..R1300 is not much but i would say the HD7790 is worth the money..

The HD7770 is still based on the old chip set and the HD7790 is the Bonaire XT(This is an overhauled take on the Cape Verde) chip set.. so future use i think the 7790 is a better deal..And as NAG-Wesley said it actually does keep up with it next level brother the HD7850..impressive in my opinion

450W should be fine..seeing he has an i3 chip and h61 motherboard..so their not to demanding on power usage ,giving the GPU that extra power to use

to give you an idea what this card i capable of ..NOTE..the GPU's above it are your top tier cards! R2500+

so good work to the HD7790

Yup its fine. So long as the PSU has a 6-pin PSU connector, it'll be good. If it doesn't, you can buy those adapters from most PC stores, they cost about R30.

Cheaper? I think Pinnacle's doing the Sapphire cards, so probably not. Your friend will still get the same games bundle though (or at least he should).

no Pinnacle is doing MSI brand and that's all. They don't do Sapphire

all the other HD7790 brands are 1900+ ..
