Hi there

Looking for a graphics card that is silent, runs very cool and ok for "office use".

Recommendations welcome.

One question, why would you need a graphics card for office use?

Or do you play games at your office desk?

Nah, just don't have on-board gfx.

Recommendations plz guys - remember the proviso - it must run cool!
 
I don't think it will push any temps running your standard applications. Any dedicated GPU will suffice really. I think your best best would be to head over to www.carbonite.co.za and have a look there for something with a warranty. Will get it at a fraction of the price new.

What is your budget?

Suppose budget 500-1000. I'll check on Carbonite. Currently running the 6870, but its using too much power and running at 75'C, heating up my whole case :(

Alternative option is to just get a better chassis with some quiet fans that still push through a lot of air. As for a basic GPU for office work:

KFA² Nvidia GT620 1GB GDDR3 Passive @ R510

Just make sure you have at least one fan blowing air in it's direction.
