I played Crysis a month or two ago, and I was forced to use mostly low graphics settings at 1280x1024 but it still looked great.

Now I am busy playing Cod4 and am able to play at pretty much full settings at 1280x1024 except not full AA or AF. (i haven't tried yet, so it could work)

My card is an ATI X850XT, so I was very suprised to be able to play at such high settings in cod4 without any lagging. I only played Crysis at low settings, so I can't imagine what it would look like full, but it already looked great at low.

I thought there games were similiar in terms of graphics requirements? They both looked great at this respective detail settings, except that cod4 had the addition of nicer/more shadows and more particles etc which created by FAR the most realistic sort of was scenes I've ever seen.

I reckon with Crysis it was because it had so much view distance and all the blerry bush and trees in that massive view distance :D

Yea + Crysis Sunshadows, bleaching, more complex shadowmaps, 100's of tress and bushes on screen and all that other fancy stuff :)

i can also play these games, but the requirements say i can't / or shouldn't be able to

my processor is a 1.6Mhz core 2 duo, and my gfx a crappy old radeon x550

on crysis, my settings are at the lowest humanly possible...but i have seen on a buds pc, how it looks at full settings, and there is a huge difference

I played Crysis at 1280x1024 but with pretty low details, so I missed out on most of the nice shadows and stuff, but apart from that it still looked very good. COD4 now looks generally as good at Crysis did, except with all the lovely shadows and particles and AA and AF... Maybe Crysis favours nVidia?

I will change my settings to high in Crysis tonight and see how much are the differences between high and medium which I believe is quite major?
