My gf has asked me to design a logo for her university department. I had two options, either a) install a bulky trial of CorelDraw X3 on my home PC or try find time to do it at work. So I started Stumbling for a freeware vector editor and I've come across a great little app called Inkscape, I remember trying it sometime back but found it a little light on the features side, well let me tell you it's come of age, its really easy to get into if you're familiar with graphic apps and supports a multitude of file formats.
I tip my hat at these freeware developers, they're giving the overpriced license software a good run for their money.

EDIT: Oh the /video bit was in reference to Miro which I forgot to write about. It's a really good little video browser that allows you to download clips off YouTube and a host of other online video services to watch at your leisure.
