In this sub forum, so far strangely enough yeah, point out a Sinotec and a Logik complaint in the last 5 months? Yes there is a few about ByD:syn but still under the Samsung complaint list. You've been lucky with yours, stop harping on about it as if it's the second coming, I'd like to see just one thread where someone asks for advice and you don't chime in with Samsung 42psC430 Plasma for R4999 etc...
Because people come here and realise that Sinotech, Logik, ByD:syn, etc., are complete junk? Therefore the volume of sales is much less? Doh. Or perhaps only poorer people without nice Internet access who can't spend time on forums are the ones buying Sinotech and the like, therefore we don't hear about it? Use your thinker. Generally people on a forum like this are in a higher socio-economic bracket and can afford big brand names; in Samsung's case since it is the most popular TV brand, there are going to be more complaints. I'm quite shocked you do not realise these simple facts and try defend yourself without acknowledging them.
I have not been lucky with mine, lucky implies there is a high rate of return, 4 forumites complaining after thousands get sold is no determiner of quality and rate of return; again you are making up nonsense to play along with your agenda. Fail.
Plasma's aren't mentioned when the TV must be used for PC work or excessive static image media. Or when SD TV and sport are not necessary. In both cases mentioned, entry level 50Hz LCD is recommended (keeping in line with budget).
Samsung PS42C430 at R4,999 gets mentioned because it's an awesome value for money TV and performs better than more expensive 40" LCD's at SD TV/content and sport. It's also a fact that plasma is better for gaming as you get a bigger size for less R's, and it has lower input lad and faster response time.
By the way, PS42C430 can be had for R4,699 now which is cheaper than LG and better, therefore it gets mentioned. Not because it's a Samsung, because it offers better value and a better experience to the user whom I care about.
You're fighting a losing battle I'm afraid, and more and more showing your own bias and misconceptions.
