You see a lot of promotions for Athletic Greens via podcasts/youtube etc. Wondering if any recommendations for a local alternative or cheaper option for us here in South Africa?

Know there is a lot of studies against/for supplementation but common theme running through a lot of the biology/nutrition podcasts and lectures seem to have a common thread of ensuring you get sufficient amounts of the below in your diet or alternatively supplement. Interested in trying to boost number 3
  1. omega 3
  2. vitamin D
  3. Green leafy vegetables

To get sufficient green leafy veggies in your diet just ensure you eat sufficient green leafy veggies...

I found this below but to be honest just eating broccoli, kale, spinach etc during the week is more bang for your buck. You will also get more phytochemicals etc 20220823_111917.jpg

I’ve tried a couple of green supplements before, mostly after getting tired of eating so much spinach and kale every day. Some worked okay, but honestly, most tasted like lawn clippings. I still eat veggies regularly, but I use supplements more like a backup for when life gets busy or I’m traveling. The cost of some imported brands really puts me off though, especially for something you’re supposed to take daily.

I’ve been using the best supplement app lately to keep things more organized and personalized. It adjusts based on health tracking and helps me remember what nutrients I might actually need more of.

i air fry most nights and leafy greens dont work so well. So always end up with the harder vegetables (carrots, pumkin, mushrooms etc). These powders still intrigue me but the price is whats stopped me pulling the trigger.
