Grid Tie Solar Installation COC requirements

Hi Broadband members.

I need some help/advice please. I have just had a grid tie system installed on my house - i requested a C.o.C for the solar installation, expecting something similar to that of your normal electrical C.o.C.
What i got, has left me slightly perplexed. So before i go and challenge the C.o.C, id like to get some feedback on how one would normally fill out section 3 and 4 for a solar installation.? I understand the process when connected to a normal municipal supply (eg: how the E.L.I is calculated in terms of all compenents, how it is measured etc) , but am a little confused on how this would be carried out when connected to an inverter (in turn connected to batteries/PV panels). the rest of the report seems ok, just page 3.

I have also attached the page in question - i find it hard to believe that part of section 3 and all of section 4 relating to tests and inspections are not applicable? Logic tells me that i have socket outlets and lighting circuits connected to the solar system, so they should be recorded, and the fact that no tests have been done so ensure the insulation resistance (for example) of any of the wiring relating to the solar installation, worries me.

My understanding is that this is supplementary to the CoC for the rest of your house, and basically ends at the changeover switch.

while this makes sense, isnt the inverter a generation system, thus not only the circutis it supplies need to be marked but also the voltages supplied must be measured, along with the circuits PSCC while on Solar supply and not grid?

just because voltage is not coming from municipal supply anymore doesnt mean that the circuit protection or applicable 'machinery' (as it is refered to in SANS) is no longer necessary.

Can anybody please elaborate on the exact tests that should be performed on this alternate supply system powering essential circuits in the home?

If your circuit protections are all good on your original CoC for municipal power, they should still apply for your backup power source...? After all, it doesn't change anything on the consumption side. (I assume though that your changeover switch doesn't disconnect the earth in DB from the ground?)
Pretty sure the CoC for my solar install is pretty much the same as yours, I can check, it's been a while.
