I don't have much hope when the company has fake Google reviews on their website.
I am hearing some good things about the new Solis S6 Pro 6kW Advanced Hybrid, and Powerforumstore will soon be giving one away. It has an excellent pedigree, and is priced to sell like hotcakes.Yeah seems like much of a muchness between those two brands - I will definitely use a remote option to monitor and set the inverter so not too bothered about the interface on the inverter itself. Also now seeing talks about the Solis advanced power hybrid hitting our shelves - any thoughts on that?
W.r.t. my usage, I definitely need 8kw at a minimum. We are rather heavy on washing machines etc. Also have a 1.1kw pool pump. If I went 5kw the plan was to get another in due course. But realised now that I should just stick with the 8kw - I didn't realise the prices have come down so pleasantly surprised by that.
I received the quote. Not too bad but just looking at the prices the inverter and battery is a bit overpriced compared to what I see online (Deye 8kw R38k excl VAT; Volta 10.2kwh R49k excl VAT). Seems like they are adding a markup on those on top of charging for the labour (R13.5k excl VAT).
I'm in Cape Town Northern suburbs. My brother recently had a system installed and the people broke so much things at his place (roof tiles and ceiling) so looking for someone really reliable. I know this company who quoted me now did a great job at a friend's place so that was the reason for engaging him first.

Google hasn't heard of them. I'm not talking about their own site, I'm talking about them being registered on Google. Go to Google maps and search for rightair. Couldn't find them, yet they advertise a bunch of 5* Google reviews.
They have 2 reviews on Hellopeter from end 2022. Nah, give them a miss.

Was trying to get more info on that one. It doesn't seem to be supported by Solar Assistant yet though. Think I will stick with Deye/Sunsynk at this stage.I am hearing some good things about the new Solis S6 Pro 6kW Advanced Hybrid, and Powerforumstore will soon be giving one away. I see what you are saying, but that website of their just looks too legit for it to be scammy.Right Air

Unit 3? Maybe they haven't been in long?
It would be difficult to fudge those Google Reviews...
A good review here. It seems that there are some teething problems, but they get rectified very quickly. An added advantage over Sunsynk is that they provide loan units whilst being repaired:Was trying to get more info on that one. It doesn't seem to be supported by Solar Assistant yet though. What is the deal you're interested in?I see what you are saying, but that website of their just looks too legit for it to be scammy.
Phoned them just now - they say they've been in the aircon industry since 2006 and ventured into solar equipment for the past year. Spoke with an Adele.
They don't have a presence in Cape Town at the moment despite having a Cape Town number.
Will dig a little deeper still.
They might be completely legit. You are however spending a lot of money and it's up to you to decide if you risk trusting a specific company. There are a lot of other installers that forum members have used and that can be vouched for. They advertised the Deye 8kw + Volta 10kwh battery at a much lower price than what I was quoted. What is the deal you're interested in?

I can vouch for JCSolarPanels, and they have the 8kw Deye and Volta Stage 3 for cheaper than RightAir.They advertised the Deye 8kw + Volta 10kwh battery at a much lower price than what I was quoted.
I now found another questionable website (Digigo) advertising that bundle at an even better price.
The reason I'm looking at that combo is because that the first quote I got indicated an 11 year warranty with that combo. However, I now found this thread which speculates that that 11 or 10 year warranty claim is BS. https://powerforum.co.za/topic/20602-deye-10-year-warranty-with-volta-myth-debunked/
Waiting on my logins for powerforum to be activated so that I can view the attachments.
But have to say, the fact that I am now questioning what I'm being quoted does not help.
For sure! Busy reading through some other members' threads now as well.
Wow. I started a spreadsheet yesterday to compare prices, logging the inverter and battery prices for all the suppliers. JCSolarPanels' prices are now quite a bit cheaper than they were yesterday! Thanks for pointing that out - prices are coming down for sure.I can vouch for JCSolarPanels, and they have the 8kw Deye and Volta Stage 3 for cheaper than RightAir.
What I have noticed is that when one price moves, the rest slowly follow, so no rush but also R130k for your system fully installed is a great price and payback can easily be around 6yrs (if that's even what you're looking at, over and above the joys of solar).
That does seem to be the case, I had installers tell me they can't match the pricing and some suggested a higher install price if i source my own and it was still cheaper. That price does seem very attractive.
What do I need to keep in mind when selecting solar panels?
How do I know that these Jinkos will be a good fit with say a Deye 8kw + Volta 10kw battery? At that price I will add a few extras for my roof facing West. The one installer mentioned that I have to keep the voltage in mind and advised against 600W panels. I don't get that though.
It does seem that suppliers are really dropping prices and the installers are not keeping up.
