Group Play password problems

Hello.
I'm struggling to connect my Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 via Group Play to my Samsung S4 mini. The problem is that when I create a wi-fi network on my s4 mini, the maximum password length is 6 characters, but when I try to connect from my galaxy note 10.1 the minimum password length is 8 characters.

How can I fix this problem?

How can the Note have a minimum when all you do is provide the password configured on S4.

The Connect button is grayed out until I type in 8 or more characters.
