R 1,232.00 for a R5 coin? No thanks.

This Line: "Extremely valuable coin that will only become more rare with time"

contradicts this line: "Invest in as many coins as you like"

I believe that could be a good long term investment but... they don't mention whether that coin is in mint condition or not.

These coins Are all MS 66 so if they are NGC packaged then they have a worth of around R4000

It is graded as MS66 - that should be an indication of the quality/rareness/whatever.

I can't imagine them selling these coins below value. What do you guys reckon they are really worth?

They are worth R5 - says so clearly on the face of the coin

The groupon coin deal is a rip off. You can get a MS66 Mandela coin for R100 on Bidorbuy.

MS66 - is Mint State 66 , it is on scale of 60 - 70 , 70 being the top quality.

I already emailed Groupon the first time the posted these unethical rip offs on their site but without decent response. These MS66 coins are good condition coins, but there are thousands at that grade and therefore are NOT RARE. As jbeen sugests, you can get these really cheap on Bidorbuy. Here is a link to a Buy Now deal for R200.

I am glad you asked first before you got ripped off.

Yea ... they're pretty cheap online.

They may START at R100.00, but they do sell at a little more. I think R200.00 is an average for an MS66 - so that's a serious rip off ;)

A proof R5 inauguration will fetch more than that though - so if you have, let me know ;)

I was also looking at this and while some places estimate this at R4000 ... the other guys are right, that you can get it on BoB for R200 ... so does this mean that the BoB ones are fake??

Possible, but unlikely... I think it's more probably that the R4000 estimate is a bit fake. It's a R5 coin people... it's not the best of the best as mentioned above... and there are literally thousands of them available.

I have some slightly used R5 coins.....which you can have for R20 each, and I'll throw in a slightly used R0.50c with each coin, gratis.
This is a time limited offer so hurry, why pay R4000 or even R200 for a R5 coin, when on special, now only for R20.
Hurry only 100,000 on this amazing once off mybb internet offer.

Well these prices ARE a discount on the pricing of whats available on Coininvest.co.za.

But what I want to know is why their MS66 coin is cheaper than the MS64 on.. and by about R1000.....

Also, these prices are WAY out of whack for whats really on the market atm.

The coin get minted and put in a proof container like this :

No one know the grade of these coins - so people buy them and send them off to be graded (ie to NGC). Once graded, they are put into the MS6x catagory and sent back. Technically, the higher the grade the more expensive ... BUT there are only handful of certain grades, which can make them more expensive than better grades.

I think NGC web has more info
