Yes, that they were.

1) Ordered a burger voucher from McPherson's and it said "Phone for booking" and I did. The manager/owner then answers and said "No we had to many bookings, we're not honouring anymore vouchers".
2) Had some pizza special that came with a wine tasting voucher - went to have the pizza and when it came to the wine tasting, I got told there's no wine tasting as they're busy closing the business.
3) Had a 5 course meal at the Persian restaurant in CT CBD, what a crock of horse that was. There will be "bellydancing". Pffft, there was no entertainment.

And that was it.

The percentage they charge business owners was too much. That resulted in only desperate or dodge companies dealing with them

Think of it as advertising, you're getting Groupon to introduce you to new customers. If your product is good, the customer will come back. That's exactly what we did with the Ritz revolving restaurant when it was still open; would love that place to open up again. There was also the muizenburg beach super tubes that we kept on going back to after receiving a Groupon deal.
