Grout color for kitchen and bathrooms?

I'm using the same tiles on floors and walls.

Floor tile grout is light grey. Now the topic of discussion between me, the SO and tiling company is whether to use white or light grey on the walls in the kitchen & bathrooms.

I was leaning to white, purely because it is the norm....but from reading on some building websites there's a new trend to move away from white - reason; it gets dirty over time and is high maintenance.

I'm worried about the look if I choose the light grey (same as on floor)

Who can give me advice from experience please?
 
It depends on the colour of the tiles: select whichever is more appropriate.

I have dove grey on my walls & it is fine.

OTOH all floor grouting gets dirty, a fact which is more noticeable when one uses a light-coloured grout. So expect to spend time cleaning the grout (with grout-cleaners) if you want it to stay the original colour.
 
I've used light grey everywhere, floor, wall etc. I've stayed away from white due to cleaning - dove grey was too dark for my choice of tiles. I don't have different color tiles in my home - kitchen, lounge,study,dinning room and stairs all the same color, upstairs bedrooms has laminte flooring. The bathrooms have tiles that light grey grout worked - no maintenance with light grey so far, 4 years on

Yeah I'm not oblivious to the fact that the grout will get dirty....just that a darker color might last longer before the cleaning process starts. The look though, I can't picture it.

Cool. Basically what I'm doing then.

Using a 430 x 430 tile all the way

I went with 600x600 tiles all the way(the room sizes made it feasible to do that). There were fewer cuts so not a lot of tiles were wasted during the process. The stairs is a different story, I think I ended up with about 40-50% wastage because of the cuts - I think that's unavoidable(so my tiler told me)

My opinion that the single color all the way gives a nice flow and the 600x600 tile makes the place look bigger than it actually is due to fewer grout lines and you can follow the "same line"(tiler speak) into all the rooms

It's a wise choice to use a single color

big ass tile :D Mine is a step up from the previous 350s and carpets
 
I did my bathroom two weeks ago, i went light grey on the floor and white on the walls because the tile demanded that colour.

And bloody heavy as well, I bought the tiles from Tile Africa, the loaded a full pallet (1,3 Ton or something) with a forklift into my Ranger only when I got home I realized that I had to off load it manually, myself

S@#t that was hard work, then I hd to go back the next day to pick up the balance of 1/2 pallet. In hind sight I should have let them delivered and off loaded. But I'm stronger for it lol

Had mine delivered luckily
 
Go light grey. I went with white on my last home and it went dirty very quick... was a pin in the anus to bend over and scrub those mofos clean every few weeeks.
 
Dove grey. Not white as it gets too grubby and definitely not dark grey which just looks dirty from the start.
