There are loads of brokers offering MT4, depending on what pairs you want to trade.
AvaTrade and Alpari offer good spreads. There is a mobile version of MT4 too.
If you use a Mac, only some brokers support MT4 for Mac, whereas some advise you to virtualise or use a Wine MAC Os X equivalent.
Social trading allows you to view other traders open trades, trade history etc. You can 'follow' others like twitter and facebook, and copy all their trades with an amount of money you wish. PM Me for a referral and you can get 20$ free in stock. I sold the $20 and bought Forex with it. My only gripe with social trading is that no trading professional in their right mind would use eToro (maybe I'm wrong and there are some exceptions.)
I am using a demo portfolio and I am enjoying it somewhat, doing manual trades as well as copy trades. I lost a bit of money being brave in the beginning but am starting to climb up again quite quickly.
I have not been trading for too long and haven't put much money behind it. I am using mostly demo portfolios which allows you to try out a number of different trading platforms and techniques (normally 5000 or 10000 USD). I have made most of the money off Indices (NASDAQ, EUSTX50) and Currencies, USD/CHF and USD/JPY and CHF/JPY. I made a lot of money off Gold in the beginning and then I read an analysts opinion and lost 900$ on one trade. So its back to my own ways and climbing up slowly but steadily.
