GT5: The Countdown Begins!

We get it on the 26th.

Guys you must double check your orders. (Especially online orders). Read stories on ps3za how some guys that ordered from take2 got a message saying his pre-order is cancelled.

I ordered the collectors and signiture edition months ago at BT Games and double checked today again that everything is ok. Already payed in full as well to "seal the deal" so to speak.

I've been checking out some of the larger of the Gran Turismo forums and man, people seem to be even more disappointed than I am over the official car list. Loads of car nuts are positively furious and are calling GT5 an HD version of GT4.

All I'm gutted about is the non-existent RUF lineup and the missing S5 and DBS. This is the tip of the iceberg it seems:

Every vintage Ferrari worth owning is not in the game.
No Lamborghini Diablo and only one Gallardo
Only one Bugatti (Veyron) and it's a standard model
No Audi R15 or S5
The ratio of revamped old cars to new cars is like 80:20
No TVR Sagaris
No Aston Martin DBS, C6-R or Virage Vantage
No Koenigsegg
No Zonda F
No Ariel Atom
No Ascari
No Noble
No Red Bull RB6
No Shelby GT500
Only one Cadillac and Bentley
No new RUF models
A million Skylines, NSX's, MX-5's, Miatas and even 3 Prius models

People are criticising the track list as well, but I don't know enough about the racing world to care. I'm sure the tracks that are there are awesome.

I understand there's no way PD can put every car ever to exist in GT5, but there's a lot of filler in their car list and it seems quite a number of major omissions.

I can't say I'm looking forward to this game quite as much as I was before. GT5 better be bloody amazing because I've had a paid pre-order for the Signature Edition since August.

No Ariel Atom!?! Nooooooo.. I wouldv'e loved an Atom in GT5 :(

Oh well, game will still be awesome

I'm just stating this is general. Remember their are a lot of admin and license work that goes in to every thing added in a game. Then the guys still have to model and create the virtual car.

The same goes for the tracks. It's easy for us to say why is this or that no in the game. There is a million things that happen or must happen that we have no clue about.

Rather look at the positive and celebrate what Kaz and PD has created and dont spoil the feeling because of a couple of missing things.

If they had to put in everything that every person wants we would have a delay till we are old men with walking sticks.

Most likely extra cars and tracks will be available for download.

Guys! Remember, this is the new age of gaming.

DLCs! Need I say more?

They could possibly add it later as DLCs. Theres hope yet.

That's more or less how I've been feeling, ie. how can anyone complain with so many tracks and over a thousand cars?

I can live without pretty much every car people are complaining about, but it's hard to suppress the disappointment of RUF though. Not having Porsche in GT5 is a big shortcoming. I'm aware of the licensing issues with EA, and as quite a big Porsche fan I'm cool with that as long as RUF exists. Polyphony's RUF license is alive and well, so I just can't get my head around them not introducing one single new RUF from the last 10 years, or being aware that it's important that they take advantage of an opportunity to replace Porsche. Most people would go for racing model Porsches anyway in a racing game, so RUF would be virtually identical. I can't express how disappointed I am. Just one RUF based on the current generation would have been ok.

I'm not getting my hopes up. They made a big stink over how long it takes to make the cars. There's a good chance a few car packs will eventually be released, but that's probably a long way away and will cost quite a bit. Also, I'd expect newer cars to be the focus of GT5 DLC.

When is this countdown going to END?!

FFS - It seems like I first heard about the ultimate game years and years ago. At this rate we'll have Forza 4 and Xbox 720 already ...

yea yea yea ;)

Actually - back in the days I used to fight with all you fanbois, the price was one espect I disagreed with - as was the fact that it could do give us world peace. Fast forward to now and - although it still can't give us world peave - the price is actually pretty decent.

I'd consider one now.
