Today, Rockstar Games released a statement where the publisher apologizes for the various technical and visual issues players have documented in the recently released Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition. More importantly, Rockstar is promising updates to fix these issues. The publisher also announced that it will be bringing back the previously delisted classic versions of the GTA Trilogy on PC via its own Rockstar Store and owners of the remastered games will get these returning classic GTA titles for free.

So this is a longer and older video but the tl:dw is they basically just ham fisted the mobile versions into different platforms:

Don't know why they took the originals down in the first place

Then why the mighty F did you release them? Or at the very least acknowledge it day one promising fixes?
 
I haven't seen 699 either, I think I saw 1099.

I also saw there are already several mods that are starting to fix the worst of it like the rain, adding fog back in so you can't see across the entire game world and restoring all of the original music on the radio stations.

So the best version of this at the end of the day will more than likely need to be modded yourself with some sort of definitive definitive edition modpack.

There is a hell of a lot more wrong with the game than simple fog & rain.

The nana's over at Grove Street Games remastered the mobile version instead of the original's. A crap load of game mechanics and "atmosphere" effects was removed to make the game work on Android. For comparison GTA 3 PS2 ISO = 4.4 Gig vs Android's 618 MB

Its very evident on all the comparison video's that its gonna need a f ton more work than simple mod or 2 to get it close to original state.

From what I've seen San Andreas is the worst one by far and people are saying find the original version and mod it, it's going to be better than this one until it hopefully gets fixed but people are also saying this GTA III and Vice City with several mods installed are better than the originals even if you mod them.

One of the big issues is how terrible the performance is because for some mysterious reason the games launch in DX11 mode and they don't even tell you DX12 exists at all, you have to add -dx12 to the launch options and it pretty much doubles your FPS.

Hell even dumping the original PS2 to ISO and upscaling it in a emulator does a better job:

 
A lot of the mods are really good because it's just using things that are already available in the Unreal Engine like the fog.

Even the original trilogy is going for up to 1k zar. I almost got one for R200 zar but that didn't happen. At least the original is returning other than getting it from iggg.
