Dont forget some messages dont get sent/received. And messages are delayed (sometimes up to 5 min)

But its cool, Im not together with that girl that I used to chat to using Gtalk-Mxit so its all good ;):D

The connection from mxit to gtalk is always cruddy as heck.. why don't they just allow straight connections to the gtalk server i wonder.. maybe their imp of jabber is different me thinks

AFAIK, its Mxit's fault. They do not use a regular Jabber communication method. They wrote their own, which is a little bit different

Indeed their use of the jabber protocol is completely proprietary. Use standard protocols and everything would be dandy

Its because of GPRS

MXit rewrote it so as to make the amount of data transferred work out cheaper for GPRS users

No - it is inside gtalke. Their handling of connections to mxit's core is extremely bad. I have asked a couple of guys at mxit about this and they explained it to me.
