I was just having a look at www.goal.co.za and I noticed that they are going to be selling a 20GB Unshaped SAIX account for R648. That means that they are selling the bandwidth at R32.4 per unshaped gigabyte. How come they can sell it at those prices and yet no other ISPs can? :confused:

Well I dont believe they could offer the price now hence the 'we are currently upgrading our infrastructure due to the immense response we have'. think it's just a marketing ploy to get ppl to know GTS. They've been promising those prices since July. Can't imagine a business would upgrade their infrastructure before any service was provided.

I see on their join page
The relevant forms will be made available just before the Goal ISP services are officially launched. We’ll appreciate it you can come back in a few days

Official release date
GTS will launch the ISP products soon.

I wonder when is this "soon" :D :D :D

You gotta be a GTS to fall for this.

GTS = giant total sucker

Although broadband over powerlines is a novel idea, how many sucessful implimentations are there across the world?

no idea, but maybe Wiki will know :D I imagine there are a couple

I gave notice (@ my current isp) to join goal/gts in august...then they moved their isp launch to september...and soon it will be october with no gts...what a joke

I doubt I would join GTS if they launch, unless MyADSL gives them a brilliant recommendations.

Unfortunately first impressions are the most important and so far they haven't made a very good first impression. No doubt they will be be launching when Neotel start offering cheaper caps :(
