I have had my phone for 5 months and it does not work anymore. How long are the guarantees? How long will I be without a phone? Will they lend me one till mine is repaired?

MTNSP also offers a 24 month warranty. It can take upto six weeks or more to get repaired.

Damn. Will have to use my late grandmom's brick for a month.
Thank you.

No warranty

I did not experience the 24 month warranty, only the six week waiting period after which they charged me over R500. This is the infamous Samsung D900i which broke for a fourth time before we got a new phone ourselves. If I remember more or less correctly, the warranty applies to under R250 fixes and then only if it is a factory fault. I think that if the slider grinds the ribbon to the screen to slithers it's a factory fault, but MTNSP apparently doesn't. I really should stop this habit of opening phones and moving the ribbon to between the slider rails...

But, apart from that, I think the first 7 days OOB failure is normally valid.
