It would be a pleasure if I could...problem is, is looking at an early or pre 20's car like that, it's almost impossible to tell you what it was, without seeing the grille. Bodies all tended to be specialist ones at that stage, and just about the only car that is easily recognisable is a Model T with a factory body.

You could buy cars as a rolling chassis back then, and have the body built to your own spec.

The only car in our family that looked vaguely like that was a 1918 Crossley that my uncle owned and travelled around Rhodesia in the 30's......do you have any more info on the car?

no man not at the moment and that is the only car picture in the box of pictures i have here. from the looks of the other pictures and some comments written on one or two of the pictures the picture of the car could have been taken with a camera that uses wet plates (see photography thread) so it might be very old indeed.

thanks for trying anyway its greatly appreciated.

Not a La Salle, but the same market segment.

P.S. MyBB has stopped sending me emails with each new post...is it just me, or is there a problem?

Hey all, apologies for my absence in my fav thread but I'm in DC at the moment and working / playing too hard lol. Looks like I'm here for another week then Seattle for a week before home.

Fazda - What I do to check up on things is go to:
Private messages (top right)
List Subscriptions (bottom left ish)
You should see there if there has been a new message posted in this thread. Shortcut is here:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription
Add that to your fav's or drag it to your bookmark toolbar at the top of the browser.

Even better - Do you use Firefox? If not, you really should ha ha. But FF users can subscribe to the RSS feed which is an even better way of checking on the latest posts. Go to the subsctiptions page (above) in FF and click the orange icon to the right of the address bar in the browser. Then click 'Subscribe', give it a decent short name "MyBB Subs" or something such - and select "Bookmarks Toolbar" from the second drop down so that it shows up in your bookmarks toolbar. All you do then is click the new "MyBB Subs" shortcut on the toolbar and the latest posts in your subscribed threads will show.

What if you don't have any subscriptions? Just turn them on for any threads that you post in... do that here:
http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/profile.php?do=editoptions
Under messaging and notifications, Default Thread Subscription Mode, select your preferred method of thread subscription (mine says no email) - anything but do not subscribe should do.

With RSS and Firefox, you can do this for any part of this forum - just go to that part (news page, forum page, specific forum section, etc) and click the orange RSS icon to the right of the browser address bar to create a subscription and in FF remember to add it to the bookmarks toolbar for easy access.

Wayne, was the car you have posted ever involved in an accident by any chance? :erm::D
Also look at the title of the picture in the link, can be in SA.
