edit: This one is reeeeally hard (much harder than the Aero - didn't anyone get the "flyer" clue?), so I'll answer some questions.

This looks like a Nash to me, so I guess it's American...even has touches of the early spec Corvette...
 
Reminds me somewhat of a Porche Spider (ala James Dean), but the GM motor and the scoop on the bonnet don't gell with that. hmm the badge on the nose almost resembles the Opel badge, but not quite.

I dunno, someone's back yard project?
