My dad had a Capri (a bit before my time though), and he always goes on about how awesome it was.

Yah... also a friend of my dad had a really pfffffft sounding VW beetle... I was about 7 at the time... he told me then that it was actually a VW with a 2nd hand Ferrari engine that did not quite fit inside the body and that they just needed to tune it and modify the car to make it fit. I was so impressed by this. Off we would go pffffffffftttt kkkk BBBBBBB ppfffffffffffffft KKKKKK in this VW.
Fast forward 20 years...
I just so happen to bump into this very same friend of my dad in the parking lot of a shopping centre... the 1st thing I asked him was if he ever managed to tune his VW engine. He looked at me confused... I reminded him of how cool the beetle was with the Ferrari engine, and often wondered if he ever managed to get it tuned and fit in the bodywork properly.
Slowly it dawned on him... he almost wet himself laughing... he had to wipe the tears from his eyes... as a 20 years old punchline was finally realised.
The only time I hated my dad more than the day he bought the Chevy home instead of the Capri!
