Actually a V8...I've had this discussion on another board, with people all over the net quoting it had an I8, which is incorrect.
That disinformation may be from the fact that it had the engine from the 111, which was a Packard copy (and we thought the Japs were first to copy other people...) and maybe because of that people just assumed that because it was copied, the 111, like the Packard, must've had a I8 too, although, from '55 Packard changed their old I8 to V8 engines too...go figure.
Anyways, their V8 produced 270 horses in the 112s, when the Ferrari TR 250 (from which it was copied) did 300...not too shabby from an engine ripped out of a road car and then tuned...>>anorak mode off<<![]()
Yea whoever wrote that should get his reading glasses replaced...not even close.Seems to be time to put on your Wiki ninja suit. Alarm bells should have rung when they site the Ferrari that is was copied from as the 166...
had to check out CH...I wouldn't be too proud of the power output if you consider the "Christina Hendricks" engine was half the size. As for power to weight, well. It looks like the TR could get to 100 in roughly half the time.
