220 guests on a Sunday evening. Wow!

What are they looking for?

They're here for the same thing the registered users are here for. Just that they have not yet registered. I've noticed that there are usually around 3 times more unregistered users as there are registered users.

Well...
Maybe these "guests" should register - or maybe they have registered, just too lazy to signs in; lost there password; or dont really know what is potting

Many people do find their way here via google looking for specific solutions to computing and Inet issues. They come to read the solutions and then leave. Some do register and become full members.

I love Google and MyADSL/MyBroadband!

:D

I don't think the guests read and leave. Because there are always atleast 3 times more guests than members. It's now about 7.45am and there are 45 members and 175 guests logged on. I think they are simply unregistered members of myadsl. As nice as it would be if everyone registered, I really don't think it makes much difference. We no longer have to prove that we're not a "small minority". As long as we're helping spread the word and providing solutions and information to ADSL users and potential ADSL users then we've achieved something we set out to do.

Or in my case, once a month I re-install windows, browse myadsl, without the need to post, and then the one day I do want to post, I realise I am not logged in...

which is why I use "New Posts" . quickest way to realise that you're not logged in :D

some of the people out there come here to spy... i.e. employees at Telkom and WBS, at sentech and Vodacom/MTN

OK, Im one of those guests. I just registered after reading this thread ;-)
But seriously, have been reading this forum for probably the good part of a year now. As do a few of my colleagues here at work. Dont have ADSL or wireless, but thats only because of my dissatisfaction of the pricing and services available - and thats why I read these forums. Just recently got an ISDN line tho, after figuring out my budget and requirements.

However, this forum is great because it has been keeping me informed of whats good and whats not. I tend to feel pretty strongly about these things and its really great to see so many people thinking the same way as me. (Tho you guys who are paying the R800 - R1500 a month for your connections, I really dont know how you can afford it because I cant even affort R500 a month)

it's possible some of those guest figures are skewed....more than likely if you have a big forum like this that is active you will have a certain amount of web crawlers going through the posts all the time (assuming robots.txt doesnt disallow /vb) google and msn search probably account for some of the guests on here....
