“This country has a lot of public holidays. You must occupy the land during the public holidays when the police and Red Ants are on holiday,” Gardee said.

“You must do it secretly. Do not make announcements on radios. They must just find you staying there,” he said.

The EFF official’s call comes after the failure last Friday to occupy the same land.

Private security firm that does forcible evictions. Usually used to break down illegal squatter camps and such. Can get quite hairy at times.

The Red Ants is an eviction company that is used by landowners and landlords to remove illegal tenants and non-payers.
They are called the Red Ants because they have those plastic red safety hats.
They are hated by many because they are very efficient and thorough and will just move into a building or squatter camp and tear down everything, throw everyone and all their furniture out and clear the land quickly for re-development...

I remember a picture of a Red Ant shooting a reporter some years back, made for an awesome photo. Will try find it.

January isn't even over yet, seems 2015 is the year when it all finally goes downhill in this country.
