So my Guild Wars account was obviously hacked, as I entered my password several times I noticed that something was terribly wrong. Now the funny thing is that my email address associated with my account is inactive. Resetting my password doesn't help since I can't access my email address. Anyone have any ideas what I could do?

Cheers

I had the same problem. Email them and they give you a whole list of things to do. Even after doing that though I still can't access it. :(

Sadly I sent them an email 3 days ago, still no response :(

downloaded anything related to guild wars in the last week or so,patch, mod, extra's etc?

Was your inactive email address with an ISP or just online based like gmail or hotmail?

Not downloaded anything even related to guild wars.
Email address is with vodacom, but its been inactive/closed for over a year now. I last logged on about a week ago, to guild wars.

Sorry about your account.

I had a similar problem with my account. Emailing them DOES work. Their support takes ages though.

You'll have to give them your full name, address, serial key from GW Prophecies and if you purchased through their online store, the last 3 digits of your credit card.

They then reset everything and after a few more weeks you're able to log in.

I'd also look into HOW you got hacked. You might have downloaded or clicked on something fishy recently. If you have, the chances of it STILL being on your PC are pretty high...

Well it appears I was indeed hacked. All my gold is gone, black dyes, certain gear sets. This is just fcked up, my password wasnt even easy. What AV should I try out?

I don't have AV on my gaming PC which is where gw is installed. Im installing avast!. Whats the best keylogger removal out there?

Win 7 ultimate. Ive installed Avast, but honestly im quite virus/trojan aware(plenty of experience with em lol). The only thing I suspect is a keylogger since I barely browse the net on that PC.
