Guildwars & Openweb

I am just a bit curios. I find that when I play Guild Wars with my Openweb acc, I get pings of well over a 1000ms Sucks big time but when I use a mate's Datapro acc I hardly get a ping of above 450ms.

Does anyone else seem to have this problem with Openweb or am i just the unlucky kid on the Block?

Openweb uses IS (Internet Solutions) bandwidth. IS currently sources there bandwidth via Satalite, so you ping will automatically be higher.

I'd assume that your friends acc with Data Pro is an unshaped account if your getting 450ms to the server. A normal shaped account via fiber will probably net you a ping of 5/600 to around 850/900, but these days, the shaped & unshaped are getting worse.

I think verizone based accounts are very stable with there low pings. Openweb sells these to.

I never use to have this problem with openweb tho. I had a 512 line on which i had a ping of round about 800 which is still playable. I recently upgraded to 4mb tho and this is when i noticed that the problem started?

I have 512dsl and get 400-700 on shaped and 220-350 on unshaped both SAIX backbone.

Yes, mine is same as James. But I have 384.
