I'd like to start a thread for my fellow rockers out there who must be as excited as I am for the launch of GH2 on xbox360, although in the interests of inclusiveness we'll welcome the PS2 GH players too ;)

For those of you who are indifferent or who haven't heard of Guitar hero, let this whet your appetite:

Are any of you 360'ers gonna buy this?

yup....

The kids will love it I hope.... Not sure it's the thing I would enjoy but I also thought online Table tennis would suck so I am open to being wrong,.

"Pull-offs no longer require the lower note to be held down".

I didnt like the sound of that? But this game seems to be quite something. I haven't seen it so would be interested to know how good it is.

YYZ by Rush is a good song on the playlist along with a Thin Lizzy number I saw somewhere too.

How realistic is this on hard mode?? Im just curious as I do play electric guitar. Lately I have almost fully learned a Pink Floyd song "Shine on You Crazy Diamond". Plus can play a few Iron Maiden numbers and my biggest influence is Dream Theater. Would this game provide any inspiration?? :)

Petrucci huh?

Anyway, there's a couple of youtube videos by a guy called SArmstrong who's quite a hot player. As an accomplished guitar player you'd prolly find the game quite easy, but rocking good fun nonetheless.

It's completely different. It is very difficult from a rhythmic point of view. I think it will help in improving the speed with which you can move your fingers around as well as co-ordinating your left and right hands, but since there are no strings you aren't going to learn much else to do with actually playing a guitar.

I didn't quite understand what they meant by this, i.e. how it works in the newer game.

Actually some of the musicians whose music is in the game found it really hard to keep up with the game.

Yeah John Petrucci is a seriously insane guitarist. Although they are my main influence, ever since I moved to Jo'burg I havent had as much time as I would like to practice my guitar. I can feel im getting a little worse than before in some ways :( JHB is just too damn busy now with the job and all...eish.

So Im looking for any good alternative ways to get back in. Can't spend four or five hours a day like I did once upon a time in Durbs.

I could hardly call anyone who plays this a rocker :P Its nothing like playing the guitar at all and I dont think actually being able to play the guitar helps much. Anyway just my opinion, but I really dont like this game

Well, they have GH2 on preorder at BT Games. Price R615... not bad at all. Release date is 30 March apparently. I've ordered 2 copies so I can have 2 guitars.

Too excited for words.

Guys I saw that it was possible to play this even if your left handed? Is this case?
