Guitar Hero 3 for PC is released in SA on 14 March. :)

I understand that it will be using the X-Plorer guitar from GH 2.

Is it a good controller, and how good is the game.

In other words does it "rock"?

Well from what I have read, graphically the game isnt that intense, but it requires a beast of a machine to run it properly. If I am not mistaken there was a thread here posted about the game and the type of system that someone tried to run it on. :)

only being released 14 March... been out in US for long time now... its not so bad, it lags on a dual core with a 7800gtx 256meg...it was just not ported too well me thinks

It's an awesome game, but for me the main appeal of GH is being able to rock out with some mates in front of the TV in the lounge, pumping the home theatre. Dunno if playing in your bedroom/study in front of the PC will be quite the same.

Just thinking about Lans! Friends have huge steroes connected to their machines. That must truly be ungodly cool.

One dude has Dolby 5.1 that he sets up in a venue we normally use. Surround ROCK MADNESS !!!!!! :D

Whats it abouit? The game. (yes I know google, but everything at work is blocked)

Meh!? R600... Hope it comes with the guitar! :D

xrapidx - It's a Rythm Music game you play with a guitar, you basicaly replicate the guitar solo's/rythms and stuff ingame!

guitar hero on 3 could be awesome.
i have it on ps2 (downloaded it about 3 months ago)
such a sick game!

I wonder about the online capabilities though

Is it actually like playing guitar or just a game? i.e. will it teach you to play REAL guitar by playing the game?

no, not at all...

same concept as that dance dance revolution game you see in some arcades...

just because you're moving, doesnt mean you're dancing.

you basically have a controller that looks like a guitar with 5 buttons and a 'strummer'

you try hit the notes when they appear at the correct time..

amazing fun, more fun than any other game out there...

If you've never played GH before, prepare to have your mind BLOWN! It's a great 'gateway' game for getting friends to play video games (for the ones who don't). Hell, I've even got my mom and dad to play (and that's saying something).

I can't wait for GHIII. Buying it for 360, even tho my PC is capable of running it. I prefer the social aspect of friends sitting around.

I'll have two guitars. Yay!

Never played it before but it sounds like a blast :) Same as the eye toy when running around in front of screen like total idiots :p Fun times :D

Check youtube for the vids of guyz who score 100% expert with Dragonforce- Through the fire and flames.

It is seriously awesomely more screwed up than aerosmith on crack.

Looks like incredible fun, wow-just amazing. :)

Can't wait. :(

According to Take2 the PC version will run you about R600, while the 360/PS3 versions are both >R800. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get it for the 360 since my PC doesn't meet those pathetic requirements
