all these price hikes is just making me ****ing depressed; i mean virgin is going to be now R420 p/m instead of R320. Thank goodness for vitality; but with that said lol, discover also is costing me R280 more p/m....

your gym increased it rates yet and by how much ?
 
Mine stays the same for now - membership = R 280 per month.

I only do cardio and the treadmill, but the peeps doing classes like aerobics, kickboxing, etc, will have to pay additional for the classes, whereas before it was included in the membership.
 
Well I still got 2 years left on my card so w00t!

Most home equipment gathers dust as soon as the novelty wears off. Testament to this is the hundreds of thousands unused exercise bikes, toning machines, gee gaws, and treadmills sitting forgotten in peoples homes or garages.
People are social animals who like to congregate in groups (unlike many people on this forum who've never seen the inside of a gym before and whose complexions are deathly ill from sitting in darkened rooms watching flickering screens too long)
Now I have no problem with Virgin putting up prices but they need to offer something in return. Greenpoint is a disgusting disgrace which needs to be refurbished starting with the sauna and showers and steam room upwards.
Childcare used to be free, but last year they smelled Money, so it's R35 rand for a diaper wrapped bundle of joy to be entertained for a couple of hours.
 
I thought the whole idea of contracts is that the price doesn't go up? At least that's what they told me just before I bought one (went for about 4 months in 3 years)
 
Planet fitness has the end of yr 13th month and annual bump in price for contracts too.

My contract is over + i canceled..
