h.264 dvr displaying vertical color bars not boot

I do not know if this is in the correct place, if not can you move it.

My dvr when I start it shows Vertical color bars, I have taken the battery out for a few minutes, but still the same. What can the problem be .

Hard drive most likely. Try disconnecting it

Could be many things. Eliminate the obvious, try another monitor, cable connection between the DVR and monitor first on the list. Then PSU, try swooping it out.
Still a problem? Then cable interface/HDD.
Reformat HDD may help.
