Hi Guys
I have a 5 bay Synology NAS running RAID5 and one drive failed recently (3TB Seagate).
I need an external backup solution so as to not rely on RAID, and my NAS supports eSATA as well as USB3.
Do you think I should go with a USB3 enclosure, and a normal SATA6 seagate hard drive 3TB or so? Or should I rather get one of the already packaged products such as the Seagate Backup Plus?
I see the warranty on the Seagate Backup Plus is only 2 years. If I was to put together my own external drive enclosure then I would have 3 years on the drive I understand.
Any advice welcome. Thanks
