Its quite possible that the Cenroe chip are in fact worse than an FX60 and especially a FX61 when that comes out. I would rather believe that, just becuase the FX60 chips are so good.

But some reviews, infact alot of them, are saying the Conroe is better. I think you kind of have to wait until it comes out. I havent looked at alot of reviews around, but most of the outcomes are that the Conroe is faster, maby not quite at games though.

Conroe Running In An i975 Board

Alienware are already taking Pre Orders for the FX61, so i take it that its already out, or will be out by the 10th. (AM2 Release... everyone is hoping)

Maybe the FX-61 is the AM2 version of the FX-60 then? Do you have any idea what speed they say it runs at?

the problem with pentium is that they keep on changeing their socket boards to different sets the hole time makeing upgrading a mess...

Well seems like Intel is sticking to 775 for now, the other thing that sucks is not all chipsets work with all chips, where as with AMD you can stick a new FX-60 into one of the very first NF3 boards as long as you have done a BIOS update

it's either this month or next month
