Hack not working

To those who know the download "hack" is it still working for you?

There was never a "hack" to begin with. It was a loophole that was exploited every time a connection was started with a download manager.

No one hacked anything, it was merely Iburst incompetence (another version of it)

The party ended sometime late June to early July, in other words someone over at Iburst got their thumb out of their a$$ and fixed something for once in the company's history.

Now there is another fun issue to deal with for current Ibursters, you will have MB's mysteriously disappearing from your accounts. For example - being logged on during the day and downloading say 100MB, the Iburst bandwidth usage monitor will show something like 600MB + . Lovely ne ?

So to sum up. No "hack"/happy hour/loophole anymore.

it ended everywhere, the party ended so bad that currently we get disconnects every few minutes
 
sad but true... somehow when they try fix something they break all other things...
 
Im thinking of changing to ADSL but im looking for an uncapped, unshaped, no threshold ISP in the region of R1000 per month. Im willing to downgrade from iBursts 1mbit to a 512 connection. I know Neotel has a R999 package but theres no coverage in my area (Cape Town). Please tell me theres hope...

Uncapped and unshaped for R1000 even at 512K is not possible at this stage.

You'll have to aim lower by a significant amount. True uncapped (shaped) adsl @ R1k is not available atm....which is why neotel is a good deal.

I guess you're wrong...

Im onto iburst almost 2 years, and the only time they let me down was last month, when I exceeded my download limit as i downloaded over 100gigs.... then they cut my service from the 29/09 to the 02/10.
They also sent me an email saying that the maximum I can do its 20gigs

So its still possible to make the internet faster.... i can tell you how!!!

I really enjoyed the "hack"/loophole mentioned in the OP, got many a good months out of iBurst. Diplomacys, if you know anything 'special', please pop me a pm.

And after this post. Two things happen.....

a) Sean Green reads this,has a fit, PM's you and has the techies at Iburst work overtime....... LOOOL!!!

b) The desperate few clinging on to hope suddenly get immense boners at the thought of happy hour returning and flood you with a zillion PM's.... :D

Either way.... now the "new secret" is out. And everyone knows.

I missed those 'loophole' days...

I don't believe this dude, not until some proof is provided..

Even if it is true, it won't last long till they patch it up...

well I'd prefer to use it while its here..even if its for a a few months :(
beats the worse-than-dial-up 64kbps
