Hackers Claim Second Dell Data Breach in One Week

On September 19, 2024, Hackread.com published an exclusive report detailing claims of a Dell data breach involving sensitive information related to 10,863 Dell employees. The same hacker behind the original breach is now claiming that Dell has been “breached again,” suggesting a larger ongoing issue.

Here’s the exact message shared by the hacker on the forum:

“Compromised data: Jira’s files, DB tables, schema migration, etc., totalling 3.5GB uncompressed. This time, it was breached by Chucky. Before Dell makes any claims, we both compromised your Atlassian and accessed Jenkins, Confluence, etc.
GDPR said time is ticking, by the way, xD.”

In response to the first alleged breach, Dell told Hackread.com that it was aware of the situation and had launched an investigation. However, as of now, the company has not addressed the latest breach claims.

ASUS denied to Kaspersky that its server was compromised and that the malware came from its network when the researchers contacted the company in January

Well that's one way to win trust back, just deny anything wrong.

Nope, actually did not care much that it's Asus many of my products are Asus. But giving Dell a hard time because of data breach, when basically every major player has had one including governments. Really.

But yes I agree companies and governments need to do more to protect their employees, clients, citizens information.

I'm giving Dell a hard time because in 2017 they had a motherboard issue with a certain range and instead of fixing the motherboard they replaced the HDD 3 times because it was third party which they could again claim back.

Yes, every brand and government has its issues, but Karma comes to us all in her own time.

Support is India based, manufacturing is china based, r&d us still in Texas I believe, and it's cobbled together with parts from everywhere in the world.

Funny that you say that only dell equipment I ever had was 3 monitors and two just died suddenly. I know they own Alienware as well and people say it's good. They apparently have 3 year international warranty as well so even If you import you can still claim here in SA.

Then again luck of the draw maybe people say the same about Samsung and I have a monitor that's probably close to 20 years old that just don't want to die.

Dell's self destruct after the warranty lapses, had it with many things they sell, and kind of annoyed with them, compared to HP,

Had HP's long after warranty expires going strong for years.

The only issue I ever had with HP was that every other laptop seamlessly connected to the HP printer over WiFi, the only laptop that couldn't connect to the HP printer over WiFi was an HP laptop. Both were brand new.

Have 2 Dell monitors that are more than a few years old, and 2 Samsung monitors that are 20 odd years old. None have given issues yet.

Oh, and a Dell wireless keyboard and mouse combo - all well other than needing battery replacement after a year.

I lost interest in Dell when my laptop was giving me electric shock when I touched it. Turned out to be a known problem with the power supply and a recall was submitted but the idiots in the SA branch failed to know about it until I pointed it out to them on their own website. Only then did they replace the power supply.

Got an HP instead and never looked back.

Don't worry folks. My open support ticket with dell will be on Day 90 soon. Waiting for a replacement machine.

It's unrelated to the alleged hack though.
