THis one is especially for all those people over at the Vodacom forum that were trying to tell me all about how you need special legal permissions to monitor the network etc. etc. etc. and how HARD these are to obtain.

WEeeelllll see how you like this one ;)

PHONE-SPY

the PARANOID (for doubly sure) one

you need special legal permissions to monitor the network etc
Requires a court order. I used to be involved with that.

The devices you list seem to be bluetooth interception devices. These do not perform interception of the actual signal the phone sends to the BS.

Scary stuff. Surely this cant be legal?

Remote Call Monitoring will allow you to monitor the target phone of your choice in any place, there is absolutely no restriction on the range available. You will be able to listen to all calls and also just to listen in, i.e. listen to the surroundings of the target phone, wherever it may be.

Does Remote Call Monitoring or Call Intercepting require bluetooth to be switched on? No, once the software is installed on the target then you can listen to the conversations on the target phone from any distance. You will also be able to listen to the environment if there are no conversation going on. There will be no trace of this activity on the target phone. You can also choose to record conversations, in order to listen to them at a later stage.

always have a security code on your phone ;)

Is this like Bluejacking? Its quite old now... The SE K700 was the first and best phone to jack with, you could/can hack bluetooth carkits in traffic or bluetooth headsets!:)

99% of the people have their bluetooth switched off anyway....the other 1% just like carrying around spare batteries.

LOL. Has any one of you actually used this software? Does it work?

I used a few over the years, they work, the best is the snarfing app, you can read sms, phonebook etc, easiest to steal media from other phones.

I have a new one, doesnt work so well, not sure why but it has a load of features included making calls fomr the hacked cell, turning silent on/off, activating Mxit!:p

So where can I find this? You can PM me if you don't want to post it. Would be great looking into something like that for an honours project even.

Problem I can see is with those packages if you can listen in and copy SMSs from "any" distance then surely it's using the GSM network to relay that info to you. Then the target would notice not only their bills going up but they would see your number in the itemised billing. Or they are limited to 10m, bluetooth limit.

How legal it is, is only a problem if you want to use it in court. A better option would be a passive GSM interceptor. It has distance limitations (1km from handset & up to 20km from BTS) and you have to make sure you get the right encryption (A5/1 or A5/2) but it's far less invasive. Also undetectable by the target AND the network service providers. ;)
