The only treatments that are proven to have an effect on hair loss besides a hair transplant are the big 3:

- Propecia (reduces DHT which causes scarring to hair follicles, can cause serious side-effects in some people)
- Minoxidil (regrowth from this only lasts as long as you apply it)
- Nizoral (Anti-fungal shampoo which seems to have a proven positive effect on hair loss)

I will probably give Propecia a try within the next few months but I will start at a much lower dose to see whether I get any side effects.

A friend of mine went bald at 21.He just shaves up.
