Hello, I bought Half life: Complete from Steam the other day. Which includes all the half life games ever made.

I have a Pavilion dv6 laptop, and my screen resolution is 1366 x 768 and when I play HL1, HL:OF and HL:BS the screen is cropped up in the centre at 1024 x 768. How do I set it to wide screen.. Its rather annoying...

Thank you!

Isn't there an aspect ratio setting in the graphics menu? (like normal/widescreen or 16:9, 16:10, etc...)

I haven't played it in a long time, though, but I remember also needing to manually change the fov to make it look right.

Hey man! There is a drop down menu with the heading display mode, and it says "normal as the first option, but the drop down menu is shaded and it does not allow me to choose a setting.

That is weird. It should give a Widescreen option there.

Try setting it to Windowed mode and see if that makes a difference.

This is the same, the display mode is grayed out... I even contacted steam support but they do not respond... Any other ideas? I googled and read about "default FOV - 90" setting but this is stupid! It does not work... And it only zooms the centerd image.

You could try add this to the Steam launch options (Right-click the game on Steam and select properties, and you should find it on the first tab):

-w 1366 -h 768

I'm not confident that it will help either, though.

What is this launch option and how does this work? I also tried this before, found it in a google search, but it does not work
