Half Life Counter Strike

Hi Guys,

I have Half life which a friend gave me.
I have to click on the hl.exe run the game etc.
Once I have done that I have to say choose game and choose Counterstrike.

I would like to add bots permantly to the game which i cannot do as the podbot installer said it was looking for cstrike.exe any help would be nice.

You have the mod version of Counter-Strike instead of retail. The mod uses "hl.exe -game cstrike" in the shortcut to launch Counter-Strike directly.

You may need a .zip version of that bot to get it working with the mod version.

God, it feels like it's eight years ago.

Did you install Counter-Strike off a seperate CD to Half-Life? If that's the case, then you could install the retail version of CS by installing it before you install Half-Life. If Half-Life is installed, then subsequent Gold Source games try to save space by piggy-backing off its common files.
